End of this road…

It’s been a few weeks since I returned north to the U.S.  I’ve been hesitant about posting because I was unsure of exactly what to write.  I didn’t know whether to post some grand observation on Mexican life or a whole series of comments on various topics from tacos to Tepalcates.  After more than 150 posts, 10,000 hits (now 12), and enough tongue-in-cheek comments to leave me scratching my head wondering “what exactly did I mean by that?” for years, I didn’t know the next step.  Instead, following the somewhat unexpected timing of the trip home, I left the blog to its silence.

Mikesnotes was never intended to be about my life, just a collection of observations and experiences on life in Mexico, some of which may have involved me.  Thus, perhaps it’s better if there is no capstone, no summary, no set of grand conclusions; any and all of which would be entirely about and by me.  My comments and posts are already inherently biased, but the final synthesis should be up to each and every one of us.  At the very least… understanding Mexico is a conversation meant for a cantina and not this blog.

One thing is for certain: that as my road in Mexico ends and I move on to the next path, the blog will stay behind.  To let mikesnotes return down the path back to Mexico City, I’ll occasionally re-post some of my favorite pictures until even these comments are washed away.

…que les vaya bien…
